PubMed Abstract: Aureolysin is an extracellular zinc-dependent metalloproteinase from the pathogenic bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. This enzyme exhibits in vitro activity against several molecules of biological significance for the host, indicating that it is involved in the pathology of staphylococcal diseases.
